Joshua Miktarian Memorial Scholarship Motorcycle Run

The Joshua Miktarian Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Twinsburg Police Officer Joshua Miktarian who was killed in the line of duty July 13, 2008. The scholarship is awarded to a Senior at Twinsburg and Tallmadge High school who is pursuing a career in law enforcement.

The run will be held on August 2, 2009 and will begin at the Twinsburg High school 10084 Ravenna Rd Twinsburg Oh. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the bikes will leave at 11:00 a.m. The cost is $15.00 per person which includes the ride, food, and a musical performance by Superband.

Registration deadline is Wednesday July 29th, 2009. No registrations will be taken the day of the event. Please complete the registration and waiver form and mail it to:

Candlelight Vigil in honor of Josh

When: July 13th at 9pm - if it rains then it will be on the 14th at 9pm
Where: Starting at the Twinsburg High School parking lot, we'll then walk over to the corner of Ravenna Rd and Joshua T Miktarian Parkway.

**Please bring your own candle!

The Twinsburg Police Department is in the middle of erecting a memorial at the corner of Ravenna Rd and Joshua T. Miktarian Parkway for Josh so the vigil will be held there, I cant wait to see the finished product of the memorial, the drawings looked fantastic!

The Uniontown Police Department, with a strong assist from the Uniontown Fire Department, will host a benefit spaghetti dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday September 27th at the fire station, 13055 Oakwood Ave. N.W. Uniontown, with all proceeds going to the Josh Miktarian family fund. Donations also will be accepted.

Dinner cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 8 and under

The sweetest of gestures to honor fallen Twinsburg police officer

Wilcox kindergartner Benjamin Brady raised $118.90 by setting up a lemonade stand in front of his Burton Lane home Sept. 21. Then he and his mother, Laura, took the cash to the Twinsburg Police Department and told officials to put it toward the purchase and training of a new K-9 police dog to replace Bagio, who was retired from the force to live with the Miktarian family.

Benefit dinner will launch Miktarian scholarship

Celebrate the life of fallen Twinsburg police officer Josh Miktarian and raise funds for a scholarship in his name at a benefit dinner September 4th atThe Hilton Garden Inn Twinsburg

sThe event, "Josh Miktarian: Celebrating Badge 45," is organized by the City of Twinsburg, Hilton Garden Inn-Twinsburg and nearby Blue Canyon Kitchen * Tavern.It features signature dishes from 45 restaurants from Twinsburg, Tallmadge, Northfield, Macedonia, Solon, Hudson, Aurora and Cleveland, including Blue Canyon.Guests can offer bids on items in the silent and Chinese auctions.

Miktarian's band, Barium, will provide the evening's entertainment.The fundraising goal is $45,000. Organizers want to allocate $20,000 for the purchase of a new police dog and $25,000 to the Joshua T. Miktarian Memorial Scholarship for high school students going into criminal justice.

Doors open at 6 p.m.

Wristbands sold
to benefit Miktarian fund

The Twinsburg Police Department and Government Center now have wristbands available for sale for $5 each to benefit the family of fallen Officer Josh Miktarian. The wristbands are being sold by the family of Christine Lyden, of Twinsburg, on a non-profit basis.

The wristbands will be available again at a benefit for Miktarian on Aug. 8 at the Twinsburg Outdoor Waterpark. Wristbands will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. The wristbands read "Officer Josh Miktarian E.O.W. 7-13-08" -- and all proceeds will go toward The Josh Miktarian Memorial Fund, according to a release from the Lyden family.The wristbands are similar to Livestrong bracelets. They are dark blue to symbolize both Twinsburg and "The Thin Blue Line" of officers everywhere, according to the release.

Motorcycle Rally
Fallen Twinsburg Police Officer

A motorcycle rally Saturday is expected to draw up to 2,000 participants to benefit the family of Josh Miktarian, the Twinsburg Police officer gunned down during a traffic stop July 13. Andy Ezzo, who heads the Greater Cleveland Police Scholarship fund, is organizing the rally. All proceeds benefit Miktarian's wife Holly and their 3-month-old daughter.
